These are the latest additions to my photography portfolio. All these pictures were taken in 2012 in my neighbourhood. We start in January and move through the year as you scroll down the page. Without descriptions, these photographs hopefully speak for themselves.

PHOTO GALLERY - NATURE
When it comes to photography, I consider myself a real amateur! However, I love working away at it and trying to improve. Most of these shots were taken at Crosby Gardens and Wildwood, two parks in Ohio. A few were snapped in my new home town, Sarasota, Florida. Generally I use the "macro" setting on my Canon PowerShot S90 for close-ups. When possible, I haul around my tripod.

PHOTO GALLERY - TRAVEL
My wife and I have visited some beautiful locations including Tahiti, Bora Bora and the various islands of Hawaii. Also represented in this group are scenes of St. Lucia and Scotland, two very diverse but equally lovely locales.

PHOTO GALLERY - PORTRAITS
There is a lot of experimentation involved with portraits. You can take a perfect photo, but it's still a lousy portrait if you don't capture the essence of your subject. Sometimes it's the gleam in the eye. Sometimes it's a characteristic pose or a captivating smile. I look for the magic that exists in every face.
