Ken Deutsch's Audio Restorations |
|
|
I love listening to old records, but
I hate hearing scratches, pops, clicks and hiss, all of which are
present on most vinyl albums. With SADiE software, it's fun to clean
them up and hear the songs as they were recorded. The process is amazingly
like working with Photoshop, in fact. I seek out the luster that was
once there in the music and try to bring it out again.

| You may be
in possession of some old records (albums, 45s, even 78s) and you either
don't have the equipment to play them, or if you do have the equipment,
you hear a lot of scratches, pops and surface noise. Some of these records
may be family treasures, or they may be items you know will never be
released on CD. You may own some old cassettes with material you want, but which don't sound very good. And hey, who wants a bunch of old cassettes lying around? You want the material on it, but you don't want to deal with hiss, bad fidelity and rapidly deteriorating analog media. This is where Ken comes in. We have top of the line computer hardware and software by SADiE and CEDAR, two British companies, which can solve your problems. This stuff cost us over $20,000 so it's better than the shareware you can get free on the Internet. One major difference between our software and what you can buy or download is that when we process a song you don't get the weird artifacts, the hollow sound at the end of songs, the phasing or the general destruction of the original source material. In fact we can remove a tremendous amount of background noise without affecting the sound of your audio at all. Currently, we are not set up to process material from reel to reel recordings or DAT. Also, please do not ask us to work on MP3 files, which are lo-fi. Get the original recording from which the MP3 was made please. Click here for Audo Restoration FAQs This Online Demo is designed to show how our audio restoration can
make less than perfect recordings sound much better through digital
techniques such as level maximization, CEDAR De-Scratch, and CEDAR
De-Noise. We have used high quality MP3 files to help you hear the
difference, best download them in pairs to make direct comparisons.
